Our second cohort of students started their projects in October 2025. Please find details about their projects below.

Neesa Sunar is working with supervisors Dr Adam Hart and Dr Goncalo Barradas on a project titled: Neurodiversity of Audiation and Mental Practice: A Survey of Aphantasic Musicians

Paula Helene Schneider is working with supervisors Professor Bill Davies and Dr Samantha Gregory on a project titled: Autistic Listening: A mixed methods approach to identify auditory processing profiles with positive and negative experiences

Safiye Sena Dökmeci is working with supervisors Professor Bill Davies, Dr Samantha Gregory and Dr Becky Vos on a project titled: Understanding the Double Empathy Problem in Voice Processing: A Social Cognitive Approach to Autistic and NonAutistic Communica

Mathilde Bérangère Bauer is working with supervisors Dr Robert Bendall and Dr Duncan Williams on a project titled: Hearing in Emotion Regulation Models- Implications for Aural Diversity

Ingrid Plum is working with Professor Alan Williams and Dr Adam Hart on a project title: Auralplasticity: A Path Between Composing Neurodivergent Minds and Vocalising Hearing Sensitive Bodies

Noa Kurumi Nishizawa is working with supervisors Professor Alan Williams, Dr Dan Price and Dr Becky Vos on a project titled: How Visual Elements Can Enhance the Musical Experience with Brass Instruments for Individuals with Hearing Impairments

Starting in the new year, George Edward Wright will be continuing on from his masters into PhD working with supervisors Dr Gemma Taylor and Professor Bill Davies on a project titled: How does Noise Pollution impact upon the development of young children.

We also have three students on the Masters+ PhD pathway, Julia Pawlik, Tanea Kyoni Chisholm, and Anam Sattar. They are currently working on their Masters and will start on PhDs next year.
