
This year’s Salford Postgraduate Annual Research Conference (SPARC) will take place on Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 June. Seven LAURA PhD Students will be presenting talks showcasing their research:
Neesa Suncheuri Sunar’s SPARC talk title is: Auditory Aphantasia and Musical Cognition: Rethinking Inner Hearing and Audiation. Neesa will present during the first ‘Sound’ session on Tuesday morning.
Addie Beckwith will be presenting during the ‘Wellbeing and Mental Health’ session on Wednesday morning. Addie’s talk is entitled: How do Adults with Hearing Loss Engage in Everyday Music Listening, and is it Beneficial for their Wellbeing?
Ingrid Plum and Sena Dokmeci will be presenting during the ‘Neurodiversity’ session on Wednesday afternoon. Ingrid’s talk title is: Auralplasticity: Unmasking the Neurodivergent Voice, and Sena’s talk is: Listening Across Difference: Testing the Double Empathy Problem in Voice Perception.
Also presenting on Wednesday afternoon, Mathilde Bauer and Paula Schneider are due to present during the second ‘Sound’ session. Mathilde’s talk is: Psychometric Properties and Sound-Response Profiles of Decreased Sound Tolerance Conditions, and Paula will be presenting her talk on: Speech in Noise Perception and Perceptual Capacity in Autistic Individuals.
Finally, Noa Kurumi Nishizawa will be presenting during the ‘Human Experience’ session. Noa’s talk title is: See the Sound, Play the Music!
